Kazakhstan is well-known for its wonderful mountain ranges, colourful forests in the autumn and outstanding mountain hunting for Maral and Ibex. Depending on the time of year, hunting in Kazakhstan takes place at heights between 2,000 and 3,500 metres. The hunt itself is not so physically demanding as for instance in Kyrgyzstan but, as with hunting in all mountains, a good level of physical fitness is necessary.

Depending on the time of year, hunting in Kazakhstan takes place at heights between 2,000 and 3,500 metres. We hunt for Maral and Ibex in the renowned Dzungarian Alatau and the Narynkol.
The hunting season for ibex is from August to the middle of November. The season to hunt Maral in rut is from mid/end September to early/mid October.
Hunting is on foot and on horseback. The wonderful landscape and the excellent trophy quality make up for the exertion during the journey.
Trophy size:
The average trophy quality of the Maral during the rut is between 12 and 14 kg. There are trophies of over 14 kg annually.
Ibex trophies reach an average length of 115 - 130 cm. Very occasionally each year, Ibex are taken with a length of over 130 cm.
We also offer a fixed price hunt for Ibex in the Altin Emel National Park. Trophy sizes there offer average horn lengths of 100 cm. Large Ibex with horn lengths of up to 120 cm are also found. The Altin Emel National Park is very well developed and hunters who are not very athletic or who cannot walk long distances can successfully hunt Ibex here. The attractive point about this hunt is that the hunter himself can decide on the level of difficulty.

Accommodation
After you arrival at Almaty Airport you will travel with an all-terrain vehicle for about 9 - 14 hours to the Dzungarian Alatau or about 4 - 5 hours to Altin Emel. Accommodation at both locations is very spartan and during the hunt you will be accommodated in tents and mountain cabins.
