Game species
Alaska
Big moose with 60 inches and bigger are shot every year.
The Moos is usually a solitary animal with extensive roaming areas. They can only be found in larger groups during the rut. Depending on the area, this takes place from mid-September to October.
Alaska's Moose are among the strongest in the world. You can expect 55 and 70 inches between the antlers. It can reach live weights of up to 800 kg and a shoulder height of up to 2.30 m.
Moose have a very good sense of smell.
The hunt itself requires a good physical condition as it is mostly done on foot. If you see shootable game, it will be approached on foot. As soon as the right bull has been found and your professional hunter has given you the OK for the shot, you have to be quick, because the bull is shot at an average of 50 - 80 meters.
You travel to the Anchorage International Airport. Your arrival time at Anchorage Airport will determine whether you fly to the hunting lodge on the same day or whether an overnight stay in Anchorage is necessary. An employee will meet you personally. Please note that the transfer takes place with small airplanes, which are designed for short runways, so the maximum amount of luggage is limited.
Since the weather in Alaska is unpredictable and can change from one extreme to the other in a few hours, there may be delays in the transfer.
The Dall sheep is one of the most popular wild sheep on earth. You can only find this special sheep species in the mountain ranges in Alaska and the northwest of Canada. They can reach live weights of up to 120 kg at shoulder heights of up to 100 cm.
The sheep live in groups with their lambs. Rams form their own groups and only come to the sheep during the rut.
Both sexes have horns. The horns of the sheep are thin and turned backwards, the horns of the rams are turned outwards and can be over a meter long. The pure white coat is also striking.
Only when a "full curl" has been achieved, i.e. when the tips of the horns reach the base, the rams can be shot. These then have a length of 36 inches (approx. 91 cm). The most mature trophies can be even over 40 inches.
Dall sheep are very skilled climbers and have excellent eyesight.
Hunting is usually done while stalking. The slopes are viewed from exposed positions. When mature rams come into view, the exhausting part begins. Using any cover, we try to find a good shooting position. This is not easy in the steep mountain regions.
Hunt the largest land predator on earth in breathtaking wilderness. The brown bear hunt in Alaska.
The brown bear is the largest land predator on earth. Depending on the subspecies and habitat, it can reach live weights of up to 750 kg and a shoulder height of up to 150 cm. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent sense of smell. Brown bears have a life expectancy of up to 25 years (female bears up to 1/3 less). The various subspecies are native to Europe, Asia, Canada and some parts of North America. They are mainly solitary and can only be found in groups during the bear season or when there is an abundance of food (salmon migration). During the winter months they hibernate in caves or hollowed out tree trunks.
