The European bison or wisent (Bison bonasus) is the largest mammal in Belarus. Powerful, old bulls are loners or live in small groups, so they present a hunting challenge in every respect. The hunting areas are extensive, the bison stock is very large. Bison hunts are something really special today, while particularly in olden times shooting of bison was only reserved for selected hunters.

The European bison or wisent (Bison bonasus) is the largest mammal in Belarus. The body length can extend up to 320 cm, while their height ranges up to 200 cm, and they can weigh up to 850 kg. European bisons are herd animals. Each herd consists of 15 - 30 creatures. Powerful, old bulls are loners or live in small groups, so they present a hunting challenge in every respect. The hunting areas are extensive, the bison stock is very large, and, in the winter months from November to February, with snowfall you can be sure of encountering a powerful trophy bull in up to 3 days. To hunt an old trophy bull you need some endurance and patience. In the morning you will stalk, in the evening you go on the high seat!
Hunting season: 01. October - 31. March
We recommend hunting from November to February.
We recommend a powerful calibre, 8x68 S, 9.3x62 or 64. A .300 Winchester or Weatherby Magnum is ideal.
